Public Affairs
We view public affairs as a professional exchange of ideas at the intersection of politics and business, whereby the focus is on providing companies and organisations with political consulting on how to protect and enforce their interests and goals against politics and society.
While in its native country - the USA - public affairs is recognised as a legitimate special interest group in a democratic country, here in Germany, the discipline still has a negative image. However, as topics become more and more complex, political decision-makers are more dependent than ever on dialogue with society and the business sector.
Both sides should benefit from the process and learn to understand the other side's scope of action Political decision-makers can use the expertise and specialised knowledge of the business sector and society to assemble a balanced and preferably complete picture of a given topic; interest groups and companies can put their concerns forward into political decision-making processes. This makes it possible to responsibly take part in the shaping of political and societal frameworks.
